Questions patients ask us most

Straight answers about cost, insurance, what a first visit involves, and what to do if you are nervous. If your question is not here, call us.

Cost & insurance

We accept most major PPO dental plans including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, Principal, UnitedHealthcare, Guardian, BlueCross BlueShield, Ameritas and Humana. We are in-network with all of them. Bring your plan details to your first visit and we will verify your benefits and let you know your exact out-of-pocket cost before we begin anything.

A routine cleaning and exam is $89 for a new patient and $69 for established patients returning within 12 months. If you have no insurance, ask about our membership plan — most patients come out ahead and it removes the sticker shock of a large bill.

Yes. We offer 0% interest financing through CareCredit for treatments over $1,000, over 6 to 24 months, and we also have two monthly membership plans. We can set either up in the office during your visit.

Your first visit

Your first visit takes about an hour. We start with a conversation about your history, any medications, and what is bothering you. Then we take digital X-rays, complete an exam of your teeth, gums and soft tissue, and do a cleaning. You will leave with a written plan of anything that needs attention and a cost estimate you can think about.

Yes, and we are always glad to. The fastest way to get started is to book online or call us. We keep same-day slots open every day for urgent problems as well as routine exams.

Treatment

Most healthy adults should have a cleaning and exam twice a year. Some patients need three-month intervals — if you smoke, have diabetes, are pregnant or have a history of gum disease. Others are fine at nine or twelve months. We base the recommendation on what we actually find in your mouth, not on a fixed schedule.

A composite filling usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. We use a rubber dam and everything is numb, so most people do not feel anything at all. We also offer same-day ceramic restorations for larger repairs.

Yes. We use digital sensors rather than film, which reduces your radiation exposure by roughly 80% compared with traditional X-rays. The dose at our practice is already among the lowest in routine dentistry, and we only take images when they will change your treatment.

Comfort & anxiety

Tell us. We adjust the pace, we explain absolutely everything before we do it, and we stop whenever you raise a hand. We offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation for appointments that need it, and we have patients who have not seen a dentist in twenty years. There is no judgement here.

Absolutely, and we would much rather see a child early — by their first birthday — so that the dentist is a normal, friendly place to them. We keep appointments short and unhurried for little ones, and we do not push treatment. Many of our adult patients tell us their first positive dental memory is here.

General questions

Yes. We hold same-day slots every day and we will always talk you through what to do before you get to us. If you call before we are open, leave a message and we will return it as soon as the office opens. For severe facial swelling or difficulty swallowing, go to urgent care or the emergency room.

Call or email us and we will request your records and charts directly from your previous dentist. We need your X-rays to plan properly, so we ask for those too. Please allow about a week for records to arrive.
